Your best chance to reduce the number and severity of RE-INFESTATIONS is to treat your environment. Treat anything that is fabric or fiber that has been in contact with the infested person. THIS INCLUDES YOUR VEHICLES.
CHECK FOR RE-INFESTATIONS FREQUENTLY.
For the first few days, you should the heads of everyone in the household several times a day. After that, check for head lice or nits at least once per day every day for several weeks - until you are satisfied that the community lice infestation has subsided. After that, check at least once per week.
